Mark Medlock fand Ruhm bei “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” und wurde von Dieter Bohlen zu diversen größeren Charterfolgen gepusht, bis es dann ruhiger um ihn wurde. Die Zeit im Rampenlicht hat sich finanziell allerdings sicherlich gelohnt. Auch nach seinem vorläufigen Rückzug ließ es sich Medlock gut gehen, zog nach Sylt und bei seiner “Mentorin”, der wohlhabenden Hotelbesitzerin Cornelia Reckert, ein.
Im März 2020 gab er dann bei einem Konzert sein Comeback bekannt – um das nur wenige Monate später zu widerrufen. Er habe “kein Interesse mehr” an Musik – und arbeiten muss er bei einem Vermögen von drei Millionen Euro eigentlich auch nie wieder.
