Valéry Giscard possédait le Château d’Estaing. C’était un héritage familial situé en Auvergne. Il a ensuite été mis en vente. Avec ses 1 000 m2 de surfaces habitables, le château a été mis en vente pour 2,9 millions d’euros en 2004 selon Jacques Estève, directeur de Estève Immobilier.
Finalement, la maison a été vendue entre 1 et 1,5 million d’euros selon ce dernier. Concernant le Château d’Estaing, il est immense. Il était autrefois accessible au grand public. Valéry Giscard laissait le public découvrir sa demeure lors des journées du patrimoine ou encore pendant la Sainte-Fleuret.
