Everyone wants a perfect proposal picture, and very few would appreciate being mooned in the background while in the act of a marriage proposal. Mooning is an act of exposing one’s posterior, especially in public places, as a form of insult or protest.
A rather funny and interesting piece of information is that in January 2006, a court in the state of Maryland ruled that “mooning” is a form of artistic expression protected under the First Amendment’s freedom of speech clause.
